    Abstract

In this guide we introduce the UK census-based
Longitudinal Studies (LSs) and highlight their
potential for research on health and health
inequalities. We provide practical guidelines on
how to access the data, the health information
and correlates of health that are available in each
LS and we explain why the LSs are such an
    important resource for health researchers.
