Abstract
This paper discusses Plato, Phaedo 106a3, where the wrong reading θερμόν is shared by the whole medieval tradition. The correct reading ἄθερμον appears as a correction by a more recent hand in mss. Ven. app. Cl. 4. 1 and Par. Gr. 1811: this paper argues that in the first instance the correction should be dated to the humanistic age; in the second one, the emendation should be ascribed to the hand of Manuel Chrysoloras.
