Abstract

We report time-resolved photoluminescence measurements on partially conjugated poly[2-(2'-ethylhexyloxy)-5-methoxy-1,4phenylenevinylene] (MEH-PPV). By controlling the average conjugation length via the incorporation of saturated units we can reduce the amount of excimer emission. This results in an increase in the photoluminescence quantum yield of the polymer.
