Abstract
This article is based on a public lecture presented to the Scottish Society for Northern Studies in November 2012. It looks to discuss the progress made in our understanding of Scottish interaction with Scandinavia through a review of recent research outputs. It concludes with a discussion of progress made, and areas which require further research.
