Abstract

An improved synthesis of the Ge(cat)(3)(2-) anion together with the X-ray structure of the title compound is reported; This structure contains a network of K/water/catechol interactions that result in a novel molecular array containing chains cross-linked by K-aryl ''zipper'' interactions.
