Abstract

The preparation and crystal structure of the Nb(V)(Htrencam) . DMSO complex is reported [where H-6trencam is the hexadentate tris(catecholamide) ligand and DMSO is dimethylsulphoxide], revealing a cavitand-like arrangement of the three catecholamide groups with the protonated non-binding nitrogen atom directed inwards to the niobium atom.
