Abstract

The preparation of R2P(S)NHP(S)R-2' (R and R' ='Pr, Ph, Et, Oft or OPh) is reported. Four examples have been characterised crystallographically. The molecules exist with a twisted P=S . . .P=S arrangement and hydrogen bond in the solid state. The H-bonding is influenced by the nature of the R groups; thus R = alkyl are better donors than R = aryl. Demonstrative metal complexes of zinc, palladium and platinum are also reported. Interestingly, the palladium and platinum complexes show a consistent conformational difference with PdS2P2N pseudo-boat conformations and PtS2P2N pseudo-chair conformations.
