The Imagining Subject in Irrungen, Wirrungen. A Study in Spatial Poetics

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

This paper proposes a spatial reading of Fontane's novel, "Irrungen, Wirrungen". It is argued that a study of the text's spatial representation reveals a reflexive discourse on the construction and function of symbols in our lives, and with it, the significance of art for the modern individual.
