Abstract
This essay is a contribution to a dossier entitled 'Online Teaching in Film and Media Studies'; it was only published online. The essay reflects on the development and delivery of the first iteration of the MOOC on Andy Warhol, run through the Coursera platform. In particular, it focuses on the challenges of teaching experimental cinema online, and the ways in which the Warhol MOOC course team attempted to overcome the limitations of broader access to the artist's films.
