Abstract
This article (for a pedagogical journal, the Journal of Classics Teaching) discusses my development of a new Honours module: Classics for the Modern World: Interventions and Applications. I explore the concept of 'Applied Classics' and what difference it can make to students and the discipline as a whole to teach Classics more often as an 'applied' subject. The article reflects more broadly on 'citizen scholarship' and 'mission-oriented' learning.
