Abstract
The products derived from [Fe2(CO)9] and alkenes bearing beta-carbonyl groups linked to the alkene via nitrogen, oxygen and carbon atoms are reported; in particular, derivatives of itaconic acid produce air-stable crystalline tricarbonyliron(0) complexes one of which [Fe0(CO)3{MeO2CCH2C(CO2But)CH2}]21 was examined by X-ray crystal structure analysis.
