Abstract
Eleven novel five-membered PSe2C2 heterocycles have been synthesised from [PhP(Se)(mu-Se)](2) (Woollins' reagent) and alkynes (one or two C C triple bonds) by insertion of a Ph(Se)PSe2 fragment into alkyne triple bonds. An unusual diselenide formed by an intramolecular cycloaddition/rearrangement is also reported. All compounds have been characterised spectroscopically and four demonstrative X-ray crystal structures are reported. (c) Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
