Abstract

The passage of dichlorine gas through a dichloromethane solution of [Fe(pic)(2)(py)(2)] gives [pyH][Fe(pic)(2)Cl-2] (1) whilst the methoxy bridged diiron(III) complex 2 was prepared and crystallised directly from the reaction of [Fe(pic)(2)(py)(2)] with methanol in air. The X-ray structures of 1 and 2 are reported. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
