Abstract

We report the synthesis of poly(2,5-pyridinediyl) (PPY), and synthesis of the novel polymer poly(2,6-pyridinediyl). Details of the characterisation of the polymers are reported. The effects upon the photophysical properties of restricting conjugation within the polymer chain are discussed.
