Abstract

In May 2023, the University of St Andrews in partnership with the Royal School of Church Music in Scotland ran a one-day short course inviting participants from any church background and at any level of skill to engage with and learn about different traditions of singing psalms. This essay is a reflective description of that day, with some end notes about the music prepared, and suggestions for further reading.
