Stability and transients of cw intracavity singly resonant optical parametric oscillators

Abstract

It has been shown that intracavity doubly resonant oscillators (ICDROs) exhibits instabilities at moderate pumping levels. In this paper, it is shown intracavity singly resonant optical parametric oscillators (ICSROs) do not suffer the same problems of instability, through do exhibit novel transient behavior. Experimental demonstration shows that this ICSROs produces watt-level cw sources capable of high output powers and conversion efficiencies.
