Abstract

We present results from numerical calculations of equilibria for self-consistent models of rapidly rotating stellar magnetospheres. In this simple model we assume a magnetic dipole field aligned with the rotation axis and confining a corotating, isothermal plasma thereby allowing for the existence of axisymmetric, stationary states for the magnetosphere. We do not include stellar winds and toroidal magnetic fields. Calculations of the stellar emission measure give good agreement with the saturation in X-ray emission with rotation that is observed in G-K stars.
