Abstract

This report documents a process by which radio frequency propagation mapping has been used to estimate the coverage of licenced Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) around the Scottish Coast. Using a Longley Rice Irregular Terrain Model through the CloudRF website, publicly available information was used to predict and produce propagation maps of AIS and GSM reception ranges.
