Abstract
Abstract: I argue that the originality of Jenson’s theology can be traced largely to a willingness to embrace the genus tapeinoticum of the communicatio idiomatum, a move resisted by confessional Lutheran theologians in the scholastic period, but which can be seen to stand in significant continuity to the broad programme of Lutheran christology. Therefore I suggest that Jenson can be understood as offering a - magisterial - expression of one particular trajectory that begins in Luther.
