Abstract
Thirty years after the signing of the Treaty of Asunción, Mercosur is going through a turning point regarding the relaxation of its trade policy. Furthermore, the thirtieth anniversary of Mercosur is also presented as a moment of evaluation of the pending debts of integration in the Southern Cone and of the future direction that the bloc should adopt.
