Abstract

Queer Print in Europe is a collection of new essays and interviews co-edited by Glyn Davis and Laura Guy (Newcastle University). The book emerges from a conference held in Glasgow at the CCA in 2017: 'Between the Sheets: Radical Printed Matter Before the LGBTQ Bookstore'. The book is due to be published by Bloomsbury in 2021. (Contract signed June 2020/manuscript due end of October 2020/full amended manuscript due end of February 2021). Queer Print in Europe is the first edited collection to focus on the importance and materiality of queer print (magazines, zines, flyers, manifestoes, pamphlets, and so on). Illustrated in colour throughout, the book focuses on the period 1970s-1990s, and the ways in which the circulation of queer print between people and countries fosters a sense of queer community.
