Abstract
A series of Nd2-xCexCuO4 samples with starting compositions 0≤x≤$0.25 have been prepared in several different oxygen partial pressures at 990-1100°C. The high resolution neutron and synchrotron X-ray diffraction data show that single-phase material is formed only for the x=0.0 and x approximately 0.165 compositions. For the x = 0.165 sample there is a strong dependence of cerium solubility on synthesis temperature.
