Phase noise of sources for multiplication to mm-wave frequencies

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

Frequency multiplication of microwave sources to achieve low-phase noise, frequency stability and high output power at mm-wave frequencies is an increasingly attractive option compared to fundamental mm-wave sources. We report on the development of a phase noise measurement system operating at similar to 7GHz and its use to characterise a variety of sources for multiplication to 94GHz.
