Abstract

Women peace activists gather at one of Liberia's "Peace Huts" for their weekly meeting. They reflect back on the famous 2003 Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace but remind us, and each other, that the work of peace and equality is not finished, instead demanding daily struggle, vigilance, and mutual support.

This documentary short film forms part of the series, Liberia: Legacies of Peace, funded by a grant from the SFC ODA Global Challenges Research Fund. It foregrounds the voices and contributions of everyday peace actors, and centres the role of gender and women's resistance and peacebuilding contributions to post-war stability and development in Liberia.
