Abstract
The phrase Dever WaDam (Hebrew), which is unique to Ezekiel, should be translated as a hendiadys "bleeding pestilence," in 5.17 and 28.23. In Ezekiel 38.22 the hendiadys has been fractured. Its constituents can only be translated as individual items, "with pestilence and with blood."
