Abstract
The collapse of the Gaddafi regime left the forces and institutions in charge of Libya’s borders in disarray, with limited presence and control along land and maritime borders. This report from the field offers first-hand insights on the challenge of non-state militia control and the struggle of GNA to reassert the official security sector beyond Tripoli.
