Abstract
The Dutch coastal province of Zeeland is rich in late-medieval tomb monuments, especially incised slabs which appear to have been made in and imported from Flanders. A particular category is that of monumental brasses, which have mostly been lost, but a collection of antiquarian drawings in Middelburg can give us an idea of their original appearance. The small town of Sint Maartensdijk also boasts the remains of an important sculpted tomb to a local noble couple.
