Liberation Theology as Political Theory: Marxist Sociology and Systemic Corruption in José Míguez Bonino and Camila Vergara

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This paper argues that liberation theology (political, experiential and Marxist) is a kind of political theory that grew out of the tension outlined by Marta, a tension between the action before thought and the thought before action. This paper examines the relation between the work of liberation theology, particularly of the Argentinean José Miguez Bonino and the Chilean Camila Vergara, with her analysis and activism of populism as plebeian politics.
