Abstract

This introductory essay discusses some of the key developments that have occurred in the field of Spanish anarchist studies over the last few decades; a field that, unfortunately, remains somewhat marginalised in the academe. In particular, this piece highlights current trends in the relevant historiography, and emphasises the importance of this research to a wide range of fields and disciplines. It concludes by summarising the contributions of the five articles that form this special issue.
