Abstract
Helen Biggar's 'Mother and Child' sculpture was located at Clough Williams-Ellis' Portmeirion Village from the early 1950s until at least 1983 when it featured in Birmingham Film and Video Workshop's biopic film Traces Left (1983). The sculpture poses a mystery for the curatorial team at Portmeirion and its whereabouts are now unknown. Working with curator Rachel Hunt and editor Diane Bilbey, Cecily Farrer co-authored a text on the history of Biggar's sculpture for their printed centenary brochure on sculpture which will be distributed at Portmeirion from Spring 2026.
