Abstract

This article is a lightly revised version of a dialogue between J. Thomas Hewitt and Matthew T. Sharp presented at a book launch for Sharp's Divination and Philosophy in the Letters of Paul. The review and response covers broad topics relevant to the field of New Testament Studies, including comparative methodology and historical redescription, as well as more detailed exegetical issues pertaining to pneuma, creation, visions, and scriptural interpretation in the Pauline epistles.
