Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to sketch the current landscape of teaching medieval history in Hong Kong, the strength and weakness of the teaching, so to project possible directions of medieval studies in Hong Kong. It first sketches the context and shape of teaching medieval history in Hong Kong; then, base on interviews carried out, it analyses the landscape and the future of teaching medieval history in Hong Kong. This paper also aims to show how medieval studies as a subject is received on another side of the world without a highly Christianised cultural and historical background.
