Abstract

Reaction of Ph2PSeOH with [PtCl2(PR3)2] (PR3 = PEt3 or PMe2Ph) gives [Pt{(Ph2PO)2H}{(Ph2PSeO)2H}] 1, whereas the analogous sulfur compound Ph2PSOH with [PtCl2(dppe)] (dppe = Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2) gives the bipyramidal Pt3S2 containing cluster [Pt3(dppe)3S2]2+.
