Abstract
Esters and tertiary amides were efficiently reduced to their corresponding
alcohols and amines in high yields under mild and environmentally friendly conditions. The presented KOH-catalysed system involves a simple hydrosilylation procedure that is carried out under solvent-free conditions and does not require the use of inert conditions.
