Abstract

High intensity neutron diffraction has been used to study the evolution of magnetic order in (Tb1-xHox)Mn-2 and (Tb1-xDyx)Mn-2 for x less than or equal to 0.25. The substitution of Ho or Dy for Tb is found to lead to an inhomogeneous transition from a TbMn2-like magnetic phase to a DyMn2-like magnetic phase beyond x = 0.15 and 0.20 respectively.
