Abstract

By means of the immunoelectron microscopical decoration test and the immunogold technique three different binding sites for monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) were identified on the surface of particles of beet necrotic yellow vein virus. One group of MAbs reacted with antigenic determinants along the entire length of the particles, whereas a second and third group of MAbs reacted with determinants on the opposite extremities of the particles.
