Abstract
This short Festschrift article analyses the role of Esperanto in the sciences and science publishing around 1900. It zooms into the role of Wilhelm Ostwald and the Delegation for an International Auxiliary Language that vetted a number of planned language projects between 1901 and 1907 in order to solve what was / or was seen as a babylonic, multi-linguistic world of science at the time.
