Abstract
We report the effects of high temperature anneal treatments on La-doped Bi-based 2201 single crystals (Bi-2.1(Sr1.9-yLay)CuO6-delta) using in-plane resistivity and thermoelectric power as probes. The primary effect of the anneal is to induce disorder without affecting substantially the charge transfer. This behaviour may be linked to the observed disorder in the superstructure.
