Abstract

Exhibition in Kunstverein Coburg, 25 January - 11 May 2025. Celebrating the centenary of the death of the Franconian artist Dora Hitz, the first court painter of Romania, this exhibition brought together works from 28 private collections in Germany, Romania, Britain, Monaco, the Netherlands and the USA. Organised under the auspices of the Royal Family of Romania, it was supported by the German UNESCO Commission, the Embassy of Romania and the Romanian General Consulate. Its accompanying virtual museum of Hitz's paintings in Castle Peleș, Romania, was created by Open Virtual Worlds and funded by the KE & I fund at the University of St Andrews.
