Abstract

The reaction between the chiral bidentate Schiff base ligand (S)-N-salicylidene-alpha-phenyethylamine (LH) and [Cp*MCl2](2) (M = Ir, Rh) in the presence of KOt-Bu yields in both cases diastereomerically pure (R)-Cp*M(L)Cl. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
