Abstract
A comment on the recent decision of the Joint Commission of the Minorities and the Sejm (Polish Parliament) not to recommend recognizing the Silesians as an ethnic group, despite the fact that according to all the postcommunist censuses they are the largest ethnic / national minority in today's Poland.
