Abstract
The conversion of electron neutrinos into either a tan or muon neutrino in a dense plasma, such as in the solar interior, is shown to be described by the Weber equation. We show that the problem is related to propagation through a potential barrier and is identical to classical mode conversion problems in inhomogeneous fluids and plasmas, (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B,V.
