Abstract
Reproducible switching between single-modes spectrally separated by similar to 1.5 cm(-1) with two-segment quantum-cascade lasers is reported. Using this concept quasi-continuous tuning over 9 cm(-1) with side mode suppression ratios up to 23 dB is demonstrated.
