Abstract

Two complexes containing the PtS2(PR(2))(2)N ring [Pt{R'P-2(S)NP(S)R'(2)}(PR(3))(2)] PF6 (R = Et, R' = Ph; R = Me, R' = OPh), have been synthesised and structurally characterised: changing R from Ph to OPh has a dramatic effect on the ring conformation; whereas a complex with R = Ph has a puckered ring, for R = OPh the S-P-N-P-S portion of the ring is flat.
