Abstract
This volume was first published in 1991, in the second edition the taxonomy and morphology sections have been revised in the light of new research. The following taxa are covered: Protozoa (Dinoflagellida); Cnidaria (Hydrozoa, Scyphozoa); Ctenophora (Tentaculata, Nuda); Nemertea; Annelida (Polychaeta); Arthropoda (Crustacea); Chaetognatha; Bryozoa (Gymnolaemata); Phoronida; Mollusca (Polyplacophora, Gastropoda, Bivalvia, Cephalopoda); Echinodermata (Asteroidea, Ophiuroidea, Echinoidea); Hemichordata (Enteropneusta); and Chordata (Larvacea, Ascidiacea, Thaliacea, Osteichthyes). The text provides a taxonomic summary of the group and of the one or more species photographed, with notes on morphology, development and behaviour. -S.R.Harris
