Abstract

The text is a collaboratively written call to action addressing systemic abuse of power and sexual violence within the film industry, particularly in the context of film festivals and transnational professional networks. It highlights structural issues such as ambiguous work environments, lack of accountability, and historical power imbalances, and urges institutions – funders, festivals, production companies, and academia – to adopt anti-harassment policies, create safe reporting channels, and provide mandatory training. The letter emphasizes solidarity with survivors and the need for collective action to dismantle normalized violence and reconfigure industry practices.
