Abstract

Broadband transducer and portable transmitter system were investigated to study the acoustic communications in two whale species. The flextensional transducers can be easily transported, installed, deployed and operated by a single person by incorporating into a portable battery operated transmitter which then generates sound underwater. The flextensional transducers working and application was discussed.
