Acute onset of painful thoracic scoliosis: an unusual presentation of discitis in a toddler

Abstract

Discitis at L4-5 was diagnosed in a 20 month old toddler following a very uncommon presentation with acute onset thoracic scoliosis and suggestive back pain. The importance of differentiating discitis from other vertebral infections is discussed along with its management.
