Abstract
This presentation will describe the development of "Theodore", an
artificial intelligence computer program designed to assist students with
writing thesis or purpose statements for academic texts in English. The
presenters will explain and demonstrate the program, and then discuss
possible further applications of chatbots to aid ESL writing instruction.
