A novel MNOP3 metallacycle. Crystal and Molecular Structure of cis-[PtCl2{Ph2POP(Ph)2NPPh2-P,P].

Abstract

Thermolysis of cis-[PtCl2{Ph(2)PNHP(O)Ph(2)-P}(2)] (1) in refluxing xylene gives cis-[PtCl2{Ph(2)POP(Ph)(2)NPPh(2)-P,P'}] (2) containing the first example of an MNOP(3) metallacycle. Compound 2 has been characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy (H-1, P-31-{H-1} and Pt-195-{H-1}), IR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. The related palladium(II) complex cis-[PdCl2{Ph(2)POP(Ph)(2)NPPh(2)-P,P'}] (3) was similarly prepared. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
